Spatiotemporal characterization of vegetation typologies in degraded caatinga environment: quantification by biophysical variables

Resumo: | The climatic characteristics of the semiarid region strongly influence the dynamics of the vegetation cover and soil, as well as environmental variables such as albedo and vegetation indices, among others. Researches in the semiarid region of Paraiba state have been carried out applying methodologies to analyze these variables, mainly based on orbital data that have subsidized the monitoring of the different landscapes in the caatinga biome. Thus, this paper aimed to analyze the spatiotemporal distribution and the quantification of surface albedo and SAVI vegetation index in different caatinga vegetation typologies in the Experimental Basin of São João do Cariri, Paraíba state. TM/Landsat-5 sensor images were used. The results showed that the albedo estimate was influenced by the spatial distribution of the vegetation typologies, which evidenced the level of land degradation, while the values ??obtained with the SAVI estimate did not present the pattern generally defined for the reflectance of the vegetation in the rainy or dry seasons in the study area. La recherche dans l´état de Paraiba, sur des terrains semi-arides ont été réalisées en appliquant des méthodes d'analyse de ces variables, en particulier à partir des données orbitales ont soutenu le suivi des différents paysages du biome de Caatinga. Ainsi, cet article vise à analyser la distribution spatiale et temporelle et la quantification de l'albédo de surface et l´indice de végétation SAVI dans les différents types de végétation de caatinga dans le Bacia Experimental de São João do Cariri-PB. Des images du TM/Landsat-5 capteurs ont été utilisés. Les résultats ont montré que l'albédo estimée a été influencée par la répartition spatiale des types de plantes, qui ont montré le niveau de dégradation des terres, tandis que les valeurs obtenues avec le SAVI estimé ne montrent le motif généralement défini pour la réflectance de la végétation dans les périodes pluvieuses ou séché dans la zone d'étude. Mots-clés: télédétection, dégradation, semi-arides.As características climáticas do Semiárido influenciam fortemente a dinâmica da cobertura vegetal e dos solos, além de variáveis ambientais como albedo e índices de vegetação, entre outras. Pesquisas no Semiárido paraibano têm sido realizadas aplicando metodologias para análise dessas variáveis, sobretudo com base em dados orbitais que têm subsidiado o monitoramento das diferentes paisagens no bioma Caatinga. Assim, esse artigo teve como objetivo analisar a distribuição espaço-temporal e a quantificação do albedo da superfície e do índice de vegetação SAVI, em diferentes tipologias vegetais de caatinga na Bacia Experimental de São João do Cariri-PB. Foram utilizadas imagens do sensor TM/Landsat-5. Os resultados mostraram que a estimativa do albedo foi influenciada pela distribuição espacial das tipologias vegetais, o que evidenciou o nível de degradação das terras, enquanto os valores obtidos com a estimativa do SAVI não apresentaram o padrão geralmente definido para a reflectância da vegetação nos períodos chuvosos ou secos na área de estudo.
