Resumo: Although the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) is widely used all over the world in the prediction of soil loss, a few factors of the equation are difficult to obtain, such as the slope length factor (L factor), particularly in watersheds. For this reason, the purpose of the present research was to apply the methodology for automatic calculation of the topographic factor (LS factor) using the algorithm developed by Desmet and Govers (1996) which defines the slope length factor (L factor) through the Geographic Information System (GIS). It was verified that the slope length factor (L), as developed by Desmet and Govers (1996), which accounts for accumulated flow, showed feasible results. KEY-WORDS: USLE; L factor; topographic factor; GIS.

Escola de Agronomia - Universidade Federal de Goiás2007-11-16info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionAvaliado por paresPesquisa experimentalapplication/savehttps://revistas.ufg.br/pat/article/view/2395Pesquisa Agropecuária Tropical [Agricultural Research in the Tropics]; v. 33, n. 1, Jan./Jun. 2003; 29-34Pesquisa Agropecuária Tropical (Agricultural Research in the Tropics); v. 33, n. 1, jan./jun. 2003; 29-34Pesquisa Agropecuária Tropical; v. 33, n. 1, jan./jun. 2003; 29-341983-4063reponame:Pesquisa Agropecuária Tropical (Online)instname:Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG)instacron:UFGporhttps://revistas.ufg.br/pat/article/view/2395/2365Silva, Valtercides Cavalcante dainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2020-02-26T23:57:33Zoai:ojs.revistas.ufg.br:article/2395Revistahttps://revistas.ufg.br/patPUBhttps://revistas.ufg.br/pat/oaiaseleguini.pat@gmail.com||mgoes@agro.ufg.br1983-40631517-6398opendoar:2024-05-21T19:55:07.521820Pesquisa Agropecuária Tropical (Online) - Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG)true
