Resumo: This article is presenting results of a clinical trial where fenilbutazone was used in cattle. The trial took place in some farms at Londrina region, Parana Sate, Brazil. The drug was indicated against diverse inflammatory processes, as well in emergencies and programmed post-surgery situations. The animal recuperation period was the evaluation criteria for the drug efficacy, also like possible toxic effects. With this procedure, was possible to evaluate the drug clinical efficacy. Certainly the product has a great potential for the Veterinary market, not just because of it therapeutic efficiency, but also because of it exclusive prescription for any domestic animals, including cattle. KEY WORDS: Clinical study, fenilbutazona, cattle.

KEY WORDS: Clinical study, fenilbutazona, cattle.Apresentam-se resultados de um ensaio clínico utilizando- se a fenilbutazona em bovinos, em estudo realizado tendo como casuística clínica animais atendidos em propriedades rurais localizadas no município de Londrina, estado do Paraná. A partir de processos inflamatórios diversos e de prescrições pós-cirúrgicas emergenciais e programadas, a droga foi avaliada considerando-se, como quesito à discussão, o período de convalescença dos animais, os sinais clíinicos da recuperação deles e os possíves efeitos tóxicos. Com isso, foi possível avaliar o medicamento e a respectiva contribuição à terapêutica veterinária, já que o produto, em questão, é uma preparação exclusiva para uso em animais domésticos, incluindo os bovinos.
