This paper discusses the difficulties undergraduate students face in learning Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and the strategies they use to learn it. Data were collected through a questionnaire that was applied to 91 students from undergraduate courses at the Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG). As a result, this research shows that the great amount of difficulties students face in the Libras learning process is related to the scanty contact with the language, the linguistic modality, and the memorization of the signs. It also shows that the main learning strategies used were the use of videos, explanations from the teacher, repetition, and mobile applications.
