Resumo: The feuilleton about lyric theater was a highly successful section in journals since the first half of the 19th century. In Brazil, between 1846 and 1847, Martins Pena produced the series “Semana Lírica” in the footnotes of the Jornal do Commercio. Vilma Arêas (1987), studying the comedy writer, inaugurates the specific study of these feuilletons, explaining everything from their content to the feuilletonistic style. This study intends to gather the main points approached by Arêas, deepening and complementing the analysis of Pena’s critical elaboration, observing his procedures and methods under the light of feuilletonistic practices of the transnational press.

Arêas (1987), estudiosa de su obra, inaugura el estudio específico de esos folletines, analizando desde su contenido hasta su estilo. En este estudio se pretende plantear los puntos principales tratados por Arêas, profundizando y complementando el análisis de la elaboración de la crítica de Pena, observando sus procedimientos y métodos a la luz de las prácticas de los folletines de la prensa transnacional.O folhetim sobre o teatro lírico foi uma seção de muito sucesso nos periódicos desde a primeira metade do século XIX. No Brasil, entre 1846 e 1847, Martins Pena produziu a série “Semana Lírica”, no rodapé do Jornal do Commercio. Vilma Arêas (1987), estudiosa da obra do comediógrafo, inaugura o estudo específico desses folhetins, explanando desde seu conteúdo ao estilo do folhetinista.
