Resumo: | This study aims at determining to what extent the knowledge about theCommunicative Approach affects the pratice of the fourteen English teachersinvestigated. Two questionnaires are used in this experiment. The first oneaims at determining the teachers’ knowledge about the CommunicativeApproach. In the second questionnaire, the teachers are offered twenty differentteaching situations with communicative and non-communicative techniquesto be chosen. The results of these two questionnaires indicate the teachers’knowledge about the Communicative Approach does not really influences theirpractice. |

Um total de catorze professores de Inglês responderam a doisquestionários, sendo que no primeiro foi feito um levantamento do conhecimentodos professores sobre a Abordagem Comunicativa, enquanto que nosegundo foram apresentadas vinte situações de ensino para que os professoresescolhessem entre técnicas comunicativas e não-comunicativas para aplicarnestas situações.
