Resumo: In its condensation of meanings, the images which illuminate Manuel Bandeira’s poem “Alumbramento” unfold into several topics. First, the poetry as a testimony of feelings; the speechless amazement in face of a dazzled vision; the connections with Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’; the pure air of the mountain ranges; the atmosphere of Thomas Mann’s ‘The Magic Mountain’; Aphrodite’s irresistible beauty; the symbology of celestial visions, and at last, the sacred nudity of ancient Greek statues. This article aims to reread Bandeira’s poem in its singularity through the rearrangement of its suggestive intertextual dynamic.

This article aims to reread Bandeira’s poem in its singularity through the rearrangement of its suggestive intertextual dynamic.En su condensación de significados, las imágenes que constelan el poema“Alumbramento”, de Manuel Bandeira, se desdoblan en diversos tópicos: lapoesía como testimonio de los sentidos; el espanto enmudecedor ante la visión alumbrada; las correspondencias con La Divina Comedia de Dante Alighieri; el aire puro de las cordilleras; la ambientación de La Montaña Mágica, de Thomas Mann; la belleza irresistible de Afrodita; la simbología de las visiones celestes; y, finalmente, la desnudez sagrada en la estatuaria de los antiguos griegos. El artículo objetiva releer el poema de Bandera en su singularidad a partir del remontaje de las piezas de su sugestivo juego intertextual.Em sua condensação de significados, as imagens que constelam o poema “Alumbramento”, de Manuel Bandeira, desdobram-se em diversos tópicos: a poesia como testemunho dos sentidos; o espanto emudecedor diante da visão alumbrada; as correspondências com A Divina Comédia de Dante Alighieri; o ar puro das cordilheiras; a ambientação de A Montanha Mágica, de Thomas Mann; a beleza irresistível de Afrodite; a simbologia das visões celestes; e, finalmente, a nudez sagrada na estatuária dos antigos gregos.
