Resumo: ABSTRACT It is essential that contemporary society, permeated by situations that require the mastery of the written language, promotes human development and social participation of all subjects who live in it, whether they are children, youth or adults. This article, part of a master's study carried out in the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Goiás - Regional Catalão, aimed to discuss the main theoretical foundations on the reading of 170 researches carried out between 2010 and 2015, in the area of Education, on qualitative research, based on the state of the art. The results point to the concentration of research on reading carried out in institutions in the southeastern region of the country. Another result, showed the main authors that have been the basis for master's research, as well as the main perspectives, being: socio-interactionist with historical-cultural approach; language as a social practice of literacy with representative authors; and the enunciative theory of language, which understands language as a process of social construction and dialogical interaction. Education.Es esencial que la sociedad contemporánea, impregnada de situaciones que requieren el dominio del lenguaje escrito, promueva el desarrollo humano y la participación social de todos los sujetos que viven en él, ya sean niños, jóvenes o adultos. Este artículo, parte de un estudio de maestría realizado en el Programa de Posgrado en Educación de la Universidad Federal de Goiás - Regional Catalão, tuvo como objetivo discutir los principales fundamentos teóricos sobre la lectura de 170 investigaciones realizadas entre 2010 y 2015, en el área de Educación, basada en la investigación cualitativa, basada en el estado del arte. Los resultados apuntan a la concentración de la investigación sobre lectura realizada en instituciones de la región sureste del país. Otro resultado, mostró que los principales autores que han sido la base de la investigación de maestría, así como las principales perspectivas, son: socio-interaccionistas con un enfoque histórico-cultural; el lenguaje como práctica social de alfabetización con autores representativos; y la teoría enunciativa del lenguaje, que entiende el lenguaje como un proceso de construcción social e interacción dialógica. Educación.Il est essentiel que la société contemporaine, imprégnée de situations nécessitant la maîtrise de la langue écrite, favorise le développement humain et la participation sociale de tous les sujets qui y vivent, qu'ils soient enfants, adolescents ou adultes. Cet article, qui fait partie d'une étude de master réalisée dans le cadre du programme d'études supérieures en éducation de l'Université fédérale de Goiás - Regional Catalão, visait à discuter des principaux fondements théoriques de la lecture de 170 recherches menées entre 2010 et 2015, dans le domaine de la L'éducation, basée sur une recherche qualitative, basée sur l'état de l'art. Les résultats indiquent la concentration des recherches sur la lecture menées dans les institutions de la région sud-est du pays. Un autre résultat, a montré que les principaux auteurs qui ont été la base de la recherche de maîtrise, ainsi que les principales perspectives, sont: socio-interactionniste avec une approche historico-culturelle; la langue comme pratique sociale d'alphabétisation avec des auteurs représentatifs; et la théorie énonciative du langage, qui comprend le langage comme un processus de construction sociale et d'interaction dialogique. Éducation.  É essencial que a sociedade contemporânea, permeada por situações que exigem o domínio da língua escrita, promova desenvolvimento humano e participação social de todos sujeitos que nela vivem, sejam eles, crianças, jovens ou adultos. O presente artigo, parte de estudo de mestrado realizado no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal de Goiás – Regional Catalão, teve como objetivo discutir as principais fundamentações teóricas sobre a leitura de 170 pesquisas realizadas entre 2010 e 2015, na área de Educação, a partir da pesquisa qualitativa, baseada no estado da arte. Os resultados apontam para a concentração de pesquisas sobre leitura realizadas em instituições na região sudeste do país. Outro resultado, mostrou os principais autores que tem sido fundamento para as investigações de mestrado, assim como as principais perspectivas, sendo elas:  sociointeracionista com abordagem histórico-cultural; da linguagem como prática social do letramento com autores representantes; e da teoria enunciativa da linguagem, que compreende a linguagem como processo de construção social e interação dialógica.
