Resumo: | This article aims to present a new possibility of interpretation and geographical investigation of the body, especially from LGBTQIA+ bodies. The manuscript establishes a dialogue with different researches and scientific products about the body that has been developed in Brazil from a geographical point of view. From those studies, one identified that the concept of territory hasn't been quite employed and that most of them have been focused on the space as the idea of corporal-spatial and didactic-pedagogic relations. However, the territory as fractions of disputes, conflictualities, resistance, and against-resistance also express and materializes itself on different bodies under different intentionalities. From the interviews, it was observed that the body is not only a representation or materialization of our existence but it is also a territory constantly and dialectically produced from our desires, intentionalities, and mobilization, the body is a territory in conflict by socio-spatial and socio-territorial movements, the State, the Church, and many others institutions that interfere and produce distinct meanings of it. To reach our aimed goal, we executed a bibliographic survey focused on some themes such as the body, the space, the territory, and sexual and gender diversity also was applied in seven semi-structured interviews on LGBTQIA+ individuals who participate in socio-spatial and socio-territorial movements in the State of Sao Paulo. |
