Resumo: This article aims to analyze the modernization process from the mining of coal in the Moatize district in Mozambique. The analysis presentes the relationship between Brazil and Mozambique, established mainly from the 2000x – in the contexto of the commodity boom and the expansion of financial credit -, it presentes the main conglomerates that explore the commodity in the African country and the local impacts thought above all by the labor category. The research exposes how the development of productive techniques enabled a new level of productivy, generating overproduction and at the same time acentuares the processo f expropriation of local residentes and the labor crisis.

El análisis presenta la relación entre Brasil y Mozambique que se estableció principalmente después de los años 2000 – em el contexto del bomm de las commodities y la expansión del crédito financeiro – presenta los principales conglomerados que exploran la mercadoria carbón em el país africano y los impactos locales, considerando sobre todo por la categoria de análisis trabajo. La investigación expone como el desarrollo de técnicas productivas permitió um nuevo nível de productividad, generando sobreproducción y al mismo tempo acentua el proceso de expropiación de los residentes locales y la crisis laboral.Esse artigo tem a finalidade de analisar o processo de modernização a partir da exploração de carvão mineral no distrito de Moatize, em Moçambique. A análise apresenta a relação entre Brasil e Moçambique que se estabelece principalmente a partir dos anos 2000 – no contexto do boom das commodities e de expansão do crédito financeiro –, apresenta os principais conglomerados que exploram a mercadoria no país africano e os impactos locais analisados sobretudo pela categoria trabalho.
