Educational Challenges in Remote Class: the actions of Campus of the Federal Institute of Tocantins (IFTO) during the pandemic period

Resumo: The objective of the work is to analyze the challenges and actions developed by the Federal Institute of Tocantins, Campus Palmas, for the continuity of face-to-face courses in the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. The methodology used was based on a bibliographic and documentary review, the first aimed at identifying the available knowledge on the subject, for contextualizing and deepening the theme, prioritizing recently published scientific articles (Adorno, 2020; Castaman; Rodrigues, 2020; Colemarx 2020; Lagares, 2020, Martins, 2020, Ladies, 2020) and the second allowed access to regulatory documents, at the federal and institutional level (laws, ordinances, decrees, edicts) related to teaching in times of a pandemic. The main alternatives found by the Institution to minimize the impacts of the pandemic were the adoption of remote teaching and student assistance actions. However, they do not completelymeet the demand for access and permanence of students, requiring constant evaluation and improvement, with the participation of the academic community.

La metodología utilizada se basó en una revisión bibliográfica y documental, la primera con el objetivo de identificar el conocimiento disponiblesobre el tema, para la contextualización y profundización del tema, priorizando los artículos científicos recientemente publicados (Adorno, 2020; Castamán; Rodrigues, 2020; Colemarx 2020; Lagares, 2020, Martins, 2020, Damas, 2020) yel segundo permitió el acceso a documentos normativos, a nivel federal e institucional (leyes, ordenanzas, decretos, edictos) relacionados con la docencia en tiempos de pandemia. Las principales alternativas encontradas por la Institución para minimizar los impactos de la pandemia fueron la adopción de acciones de educación a distancia yasistencia estudiantil. Sin embargo, no satisfacen completamente la demanda de acceso y permanencia de los estudiantes, lo que requiere una evaluación y mejora constantes, con la participación de la comunidad académica.O objetivo do trabalho consiste em analisar os desafios e ações desenvolvidas pelo Instituto Federal do Tocantins, Campus Palmas, para continuidade dos cursos presenciais no período da pandemia da COVID-19. A metodologia utilizada foi baseada em revisão bibliográfica e documental, a primeira visando identificar o conhecimento disponível sobre o assunto, para contextualização e aprofundamento da temática, priorizando artigos científicos publicados recentemente (Adorno, 2020; Castaman; Rodrigues, 2020; Colemarx 2020; Lagares, 2020, Martins, 2020, Senhoras, 2020) e a segunda permitiu o acesso aos documentos regulamentadores, em âmbito federal e institucional (leis, portarias, decretos, editais) relacionados ao ensino em tempos de pandemia. As principais alternativas encontradas pela Instituição para minimizar os impactos da pandemia foram a adoção do ensino remoto e de ações de assistênciaestudantil.
