The knowledge of nursing students on spiritual care in clinical practice

Resumo: Introduction: Spirituality is gaining relevance in the context of health professional training. Comprehended the nursing graduating perception about the relationship between spirituality with health is essential for the purpose, more effective insertion of this topic, in nursing courses, undergraduate curriculum. Objective: Identify nursing students knowledge on spiritual care in health. Material and Methods: Miscellaneous, descriptive, exploratory, transversal study, with content statistical assay, deductive and inductive thematic type. 46 nursing undergraduate from a private university, inland São Paulo state participated, share from the 3rd to the 7th period, over 18 years old. Data collection happened between May and July 2020, by electronic form wey of e-mail, containing questions related to sociodemographic data and another specific one about spirituality. Results: The most participants have heard about spirituality in health sometime, however never in clinical practice. All the participants consider the topic extremely important and would like to be approached in a transversal way in graduation course. Conclusion: It is urgent the insertion of a discipline or learning strategies that approach spiritual care nurses graduation, given the clinical significance, correlating it with practice care, in order to develop critical and reflective clinical on future nurses, before that human dimension.

Compreender a percepção dos graduandos de enfermagem sobre a relação da espiritualidade com a saúde é fundamental para propostas de inserção mais efetivas deste tema nos currículos de graduação de cursos de enfermagem. Objetivo: Identificar o conhecimento dos graduandos de enfermagem sobre o cuidado espiritual no âmbito da saúde. Material e Métodos: Estudo misto, descritivo, exploratório, transversal, com análise estatística descritiva e de conteúdo, do tipo temática dedutiva e indutiva. Participaram 46 graduandos em enfermagem de uma universidade privada do interior do estado de São Paulo, distribuídos do 3º ao 7º período, maiores de 18 anos. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre os meses de maio e julho de 2020, por formulário eletrônico via e-mail, contendo questões referentes aos dados sociodemográficos e por outro específico sobre a espiritualidade. Resultados: A maioria dos participantes já ouviu falar da espiritualidade em saúde em algum momento, entretanto não na prática clínica. Todos os participantes consideram o tema de extrema importância e gostariam que fosse abordado de maneira transversal na graduação.
