Resumo: The growth conilon coffee (Coffea canephora Pierre ex A. Froehner) can be influenced significantly by reducing the available water in the soil, especially during its early development. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the influence of soil water deficit on the initial development of the conilon coffee Robusta Tropical cultivar in different water availability. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse of Agricultural Sciences Center of the Federal University of Espírito Santo, in Alegre, ES, consisting of four treatments (100, 50, 30 and 10% of available soil water) in a completely randomized design with four replicates. After one hundred and twenty days, the variables were: rate of growth in biomass, growth rate in height, growth rate in leaf area and stem growth rate. The results showed that the growth rate on biomass growing and stem height at conilon coffee decreased linearly with the reduction of available water in the soil. The highest growth rate in leaf area were obtained in 84.76 % of the water available in the soil.

Editora UFLA2016-03-22info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfapplication/zipapplication/ziphttps://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/Coffeescience/article/view/958Coffee Science - ISSN 1984-3909; Vol. 11 No. 1 (2016); 33 - 38Coffee Science; Vol. 11 Núm. 1 (2016); 33 - 38Coffee Science; v. 11 n. 1 (2016); 33 - 381984-3909reponame:Coffee Science (Online)instname:Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA)instacron:UFLAporhttps://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/Coffeescience/article/view/958/pdf_4https://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/Coffeescience/article/view/958/1488https://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/Coffeescience/article/view/958/1489Copyright (c) 2016 Coffee Science - ISSN 1984-3909https://creativecommons.org/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessRodrigues, Rogério RangelPizetta, Samuel ColaSilva, Nicolly Kalliliny CavalcantiRibeiro, Wilian Rodriguesdos Reis, Edvaldo Fialho2016-03-23T02:36:31Zoai:coffeescience.ufla.br:article/958Revistahttps://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/CoffeesciencePUBhttps://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/Coffeescience/oaicoffeescience@dag.ufla.br||coffeescience@dag.ufla.br|| alvaro-cozadi@hotmail.com1984-39091809-6875opendoar:2024-05-21T19:53:53.884982Coffee Science (Online) - Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA)true
