Resumo: Beans are an important agricultural crop in the Brazilian economy, and the country stands out as the biggest producer and consumer of the grain. As a short vegetative cycle, knowledge of its growth curves becomes an informative tool, which can aid in more efficient management; besides enabling the detection of factors that affect the development of the plant. The objective of this study was to describe the accumulation of dry biomass of common bean cv. Jalo by adjusting nonlinear regression models. The data were obtained from an experiment conducted in contiguous areas with no - tillage and conventional no - tillage, in which a randomized block design with three replications was used, with treatments arranged in a 5x7 factorial scheme, involving five seed densities (75, 145, 215 , 285, 355 thousand plants per ha-1) and seven evaluation periods (from 13 to 73 days after emergence (DAE) in the conventional plantation, and from 10 to 70 DAE in no-tillage). The accumulation of dry biomass in the different parts of the plant (stem, stem and leaf, stem, leaf and pod, stem, leaf, pod and grain) was analyzed. The accumulation of dry biomass was different among sowing densities, with higher accumulations at higher densities. In the direct plantation, there were larger accumulations of biomass in relation to the conventional plantation, with relative precocity. The logistic model was selected as the most efficient in describing the growth in dry biomass accumulation of common bean.
