Resumo: This work aims to make a case that contemplates the experience, still in expansion and improvement of the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) Center for Distance Education (CEAD) in educational management courses offered in the form distance in partnership with the Open University System of Brazil (UAB). The text gives a brief description of the management tool used - GIAVA - and his creation process and continuous improvement. It also brings the information of evaluation criteria used and their transformations. The text also incorporates the organization and conduct of selective processes tutors - here featured the initial training courses - offering continuing education courses for teachers and tutors working together of the Coordination Team pedagogical CEAD with the team of Instructional Designers in construction and also the daily monitoring of activities developed by tutors in Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) of all distance courses of UFLA.

O texto faz uma breve descrição da ferramenta de gestão utilizada – GIAVA – e seu processo de criação e constante aperfeiçoamento, trazendo a informação dos critérios de avaliação utilizados e suas transformações.
