The article aims to develop a proposal for adapting the BSC to apply the Coordination of Care User Library, Federal University of Lavras, seeking improvements in the performance of their activities. It talks about strategic planning in academic libraries and describes the BSC methodology and its application in libraries. It is a contextualization of the environment that served as study object, then its hold a SWOT analysis to identify what are the main strengths and weaknesses, threats and opportunities. Finally, you enter the BSC, even if defining strategic objectives, indicators, targets, and strategic actions to reduce the weaknesses identified by the SWOT analysis. As a technique for research adopts a qualitative approach, using a literature review and exploratory research. The method of data collection used was the structured interview. As for the results, the main points were identified as insufficient space, lack of furniture and difficulties in adjusting their servers changes. The main weaknesses identified were due to overwhelming demand generated by the new courses offered and students recently entered the university. It is concluded that for the proposed BSC UFLA in the University Library to be honored will be necessary commitment to change their leaders, and ongoing administrative support of senior management.
