This article analyzes the implications of the theoretical models of accountability for social organizations. He assumes the concept of accountability as a theoretically integrated strategy, in which each of the theories presented have divergent views of others. The study sought to map and structure the various models of accountability, noting the differences between them as well as their implications in social organizations. The choice of models was based on their importance for the discussion of accountability in social organizations, so that they interact with political and economic systems present in recent history, such as social democracy, neoliberalism, and the current social. Regarding the methodological approach for the implementation of the objectives, qualitative research is basic in nature, and descriptive literature. The results highlight that by incorporating discourses within the broader theoretical models has a vision of how these discourses establish accountability differently. The proposed conclusion is that the discussions generated are a tool that allows testing of various and multiple accountability processes that have an impact on social organization provide an understanding of the theoretical positions in which these processes are embedded.
