A Capoeira Angola é uma das manifestações afro-brasileiras que foi utilizada na resistência ao sistema escravista pelos africanos escravizados. Na  contemporaneidade, continua sendo praticada e mantém seu caráter emancipador. É importante compreendermos a capoeira em seus diversos aspectos de forma a enxergá-la como uma prática corpórea que agrega dimensões sociais e culturais importantes na trajetória de libertação. O presente estudo apresenta uma pesquisa sobre a Capoeira Angola no Quilombo de SantaMaria dos Pretos no interior de Itapecuru Mirim. O objetivo dessa pesquisa foi analisar as contribuições socioculturais da Capoeira Angola através das aulas de capoeira do Projeto Marakizomba que atua desde 2013 nessa comunidade. Os instrumentos de pesquisa foram observações e entrevistas. Constatou-se quenas aulas de capoeira prevaleceram o ensino e a valorização da Capoeira Angola e das demais culturas afro-brasileiras, reafirmando a importância da ancestralidade, resultando na elevação de sua estima e promovendoo respeito da sua cultura, tornando esse respeito um manifesto vivo de sua cidadania. Palavras-chave: Capoeira. It is important to understand capoeira in its various aspects in order to see it as a corporeal practice that aggregates important social and cultural dimensions in the path of liberation. The present study presents a research about Capoeira Angola in Quilombo of Santa Maria the of Pretos in the interior of Itapecuru Mirim – Maranhão. The objective of this research was to analyze the social and cutural contributions of Capoeira Angola through the capoeira classes of the Marakizomba Project that has been working in this community since 2013. The research instruments were observations and interviews. It was verified that in capoeira classes the teaching and appreciation of Capoeira Angola and other Afro-Brazilian cultures prevailed, awakening in the students the importance of ancestry, resulting in the elevation of their esteem and promoting the respect of their culture, makingthis respect a living manifest of his citizenship Keywords: Capoeira.
