Da psico-história a Gaia: o percurso de Asimov sob a ótica da complexidade de Morin.

The main objective of this work is to demarcate Asimov's thought path in the Foundation series, through the relation with Morin's theory. This process will be heterodox: firstly, it is composed by a complexity’s critique of the scientism present in the Foundation trilogy, written by Asimov in his youth; then dialogue with the issues presented in the prequels and sequences, written 30 years later. We will dialogize the concept of complexity, which points out the difficulties of the contemporary scientific method, and the problematic of the construction of psycho-history, especially in the prequels to the trilogy, which analyze the obstacles and possible assumptions for the creation of a mathematical social science. Finally, we will dialogize the construction of the complexity and megadeath concepts with the problem presented in the trilogy sequences: the ethical-political dispute between psycho-history, which guides the paths of humanity through its objectivist method, and Gaia, a planetary entity formed by the mental union between human beings, other living beings and the environment, which intends to assimilate the entire galaxy, to constitute a conflict-free superorganism.
