Resumo: | The present work aims to analyze the sung points of the Tambor de Mina bernardense, in order to reflect on the conceptualization of this religious cultural manifestation in the light of Cognitive Linguistics. Based on the assumptions of the Theory of Conceptual Metaphor to understand how the sung points of the São Bernardo Mine Drum/MA reflect, through figurative language, the mystical and religious thoughts and feelings rooted in the universe of this cultural tradition. The choice of these sung points was primarily due to the feelings evoked by them in the community, since these songs are a fundamental part of this manifestation, because they allow the participants, permanent contact of the visible with the invisible. We understand that understanding the universe of metaphorical meaning has been a daily task for many researchers, especially when it comes to oral communities in which all their traditions, rites, customs are passed on orally. Tendo como base os pressupostos da Teoria da Metáfora Conceptual para compreender de que forma os pontos cantados do Tambor de Mina de São Bernardo/MA refletem, por meio da linguagem figurada, os pensamentos e sentimentos místicos e religiosos enraizados no universo dessa tradição cultural. A escolha desses pontos cantados deu-se primordialmente pelos sentimentos por eles evocados na comunidade, visto que, esses cânticos são parte fundamental dessa manifestação, por permitirem aos participantes, contato permanente do visível com o invisível. Compreendemos que entender o universo da significação metafórica tem sido uma tarefa diária para muitos pesquisadores, ainda mais quando se trata de comunidades orais em que todas as suas tradições, ritos, costumes são repassadas oralmente. A comunidade aqui analisada é o Tambor de Mina. Comunidade religiosa de tradição oral predominante no Maranhão e Pará, em que toda a cultura, crenças e ideologias são repassadas através dos cânticos. Aqui estes cânticos, não são vistos apenas como mensagens espirituais, mas sim como operações mentais carregadas de expressões metafóricas que conceptualizam o entendimento, pensamento, ações dos sujeitos participantes. Para tornar nossos objetivos possíveis e testar nossas hipóteses, utilizamos como aporte teórico, autores como: Lakoff e Johnson (2002), Carneiro (2014), Ferrari (2018) dentre outros.
