Resumo: | This research aimed to analyze utterances related to gender and power relations observed in teachers’ discourses when addressing scientific knowledge. The research was based on the feminist science epistemologies and Foucault’s thought. Six undergraduate students from a public university took part in the study. The analysis corpus was built up using semi-structured online interviews. The discourses were analyzed using Foucault’s tools – discourse, utterance, discursive formations, and power-knowledge relations – and the feminist theoretical background to evidence and ascribe meaning to the discursive utterances. We characterized utterances that naturalize social relations from biological discourses, dichotomies that prevent a look into diversity, cell and molecule humanization, animal behavior, and science critique. We emphasized the importance of the circulation of discourses that enable the rupture of barriers destabilizing certainties (im)posed by biology to give rise to other truths. |

The research was based on the feminist science epistemologies and Foucault’s thought. Six undergraduate students from a public university took part in the study. The analysis corpus was built up using semi-structured online interviews.
