Resumo: This research intended to analyze the formation of mediators developed in a project of science communication in the inside of the Bahia State. To this end, a theoretical basis was constructed from studies that analyzed practices, characteristics and difficulties of the formation of mediators developed in museums and science centers. Qualitative, the research used Content Analysis to explore the data collected from questionnaires answered by project monitors and semi-structured interviews with one of the coordinators. The results indicate that the formation occurs predominantly with the beginner monitor formed by another more experienced in field activities. Moreover, difficulties were noticed with the manipulation of equipment and in training activities, in addition to the temporary nature of the mediator's bond in the project. Finally, notes are made with the intention of overcoming some difficulties common to the training of mediators.

Para ello, se construyó una base teórica a partir de estudios que analizaron prácticas, características y dificultades de la formación de mediadores desarrollados en museos y centros científicos. De carácter cualitativo, la investigación utilizó el análisis de contenido para explorar los datos recopilados de cuestionarios respondidos por monitores de proyectos y entrevistas semiestructuradas con uno de los coordinadores. Los resultados indican que la formación se produce predominantemente con el monitor novato formado por otro más experimentado en las actividades de campo. Además, se notaron dificultades con la manipulación de equipos y actividades de formación, además de la naturaleza temporal del vínculo del mediador en el proyecto. Por último, se toman notas con la intención de superar algunas dificultades comunes a la formación de mediadores.Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar a formação de mediadores desenvolvida em um projeto de divulgação científica itinerante no interior do Estado da Bahia. Para tal, construiu-se uma base teórica a partir de estudos que analisaram práticas, características e dificuldades da formação de mediadores desenvolvida em museus e centros de ciências. De caráter qualitativo, a pesquisa se utilizou da Análise de Conteúdo para exploração dos dados coletados a partir de questionários respondidos pelos mediadores do projeto, e entrevista semiestruturada com um dos coordenadores. Os resultados apontam que a formação ocorre predominantemente com o mediador novato sendo formado por outro mais experiente nas atividades de campo. Além disso, notou-se dificuldades com a manipulação de equipamentos e nas atividades de formação, além do caráter temporário do vínculo do mediador no projeto.
