Resumo: This text proposes an appreciation regarding the intimate relationship between tradition and rupture focusing on the imbrication of the artistic trajectory of two masters of professional dance training in the city of Belo Horizonte, Carlos Leite and Klauss Vianna. In order to do so we analyze different aspects of these masters in the promotion of the professional dance activity from the state of Minas Gerais. It is proposed that in the processes of artistic professionalization of dance, rupture and tradition are two sides of the same coin. One does not subsist without the other in a process that consists of several aspects that, instead of excluding, they complement each other.

Para tanto, analisam-se aspectos distintos desses mestres na promoção da atividade da dança do estado de Minas Gerais.
