Resumo: This article analyzes the film Sarah’s Key in order to investigate the relationship between cinema, individual memory, collective memory and history. The period of the Nazi occupation of France, the events associated with the Rafle du Vélodrome d’Hiver, the construction of a heroic and dignified narrative to the French past and subsequent efforts to critize it – including film productions – are examined considering the confrontation between the underground and official voices who built and still build the multiple historic representations.
