Resumo: “Domingos da Criação” was a series of artistic events organized in 1971 by Frederico Morais in the external area of MAM-RJ. In these events, the participating public could experience the creative process through the use of poor materials. Morais’ idea was to think about the concept of Sunday and to question the leisure within the bourgeois society. The objective of this article is to highlight the notions that founded those events, in addition to discussing the ideas of leisure and free time in the thinking of Adorno and Dumazedier, using qualitative and explanatory methodologies. The article concludes that “Domingos da Criação” was an initiative that combated the individual alienation in face of the social and governmental oppression.

El público participante pudo experimentar el proceso creativo mediante el uso de materiales precarios. La idea de Morais era pensar el concepto de domingo y cuestionar el ocio en el contexto de la sociedad burguesa. El objetivo de este artículo es destacar las ideas que sustanciaron los “Domingos” y discutir las nociones de ocio y tiempo libre en el pensamiento de Theodor Adorno y Joffre Dumazedier, mediante el uso de una metodología cualitativa y explicativa. Se concluye que los “Domingos da Criação” fueron una iniciativa que luchó contra la alienación del individuo frente a la opresión social y gubernamental.Os “Domingos da Criação” foram uma série de eventos artísticos organizados por Frederico Morais, em 1971, na área externa ao MAM-RJ. Neles o público participante pôde vivenciar o processo criativo por meio do uso de materiais precários. A ideia de Morais era pensar o conceito de domingo e questionar o lazer no âmbito da sociedade burguesa. Objetiva-se com este artigo ressaltar os pressupostos que fundamentaram os “Domingos”, além de discutir as noções de lazer e de tempo livre no pensamento de Theodor Adorno e Joffre Dumazedier, através do uso da metodologia qualitativa e explicativa.
