Education in Art in the North of Brazil: the chal-lenges of Strictu Sensu Graduate Studies at the master’s level

Resumo: This investigation sought to understand the challenges and approaches of/in the context of postgraduate strictu sensu in Arts in the northern region of Brazil. For this, a qualitative approach was carried out – based on a documental study on the CAPES-Sucupira Portal; in the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of CAPES; and, in the portals of the Programs strictu sensu of the Federal Public Higher Education Institutions (IESPF) of the North Region that maintain programs in the area of Arts. From this, 79 dissertations defended between the years 2017-2021 in the Graduate Program in Arts - UFPA were analyzed. With the analysis we show that in the North region there are few Programs resulting in scarce trained human resources and countless ways to access knowledge, made invisible.

Para ello, se realizó un abordaje cualitativo – a partir de un estudio documental en el Portal CAPES-Sucupira; en el Catálogo de Tesis y Disertaciones de la CAPES; y, en los portales de los Programas strictu sensu de las Instituciones de Educación Superior Públicas Federales (IESPF) de la Región Norte que mantienen programas en el área de los Arts. A partir de eso, se analizaron 79 disertaciones defendidas entre los años 2017-2021 en el Programa de Posgrado en Artes - UFPA. Con el análisis mostramos que en la región Norte existen pocos Programas lo que resulta en escasos recursos humanos capacitados e innumerables formas de acceder al conocimiento, invisibilizadas.Esta investigação buscou compreender os desafios e abordagens do/no contexto da Pós-graduação strictu sensu em Artes na região norte do Brasil. Para isso foi realizada uma investigação de abordagem qualitativa – a partir de um estudo documental no Portal da CAPES-Sucupira; no Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da CAPES; e, nos portais dos Programas strictu sensu das Instituições de Ensino Superior Públicas Federais (IESPF) da Região Norte que mantém programas na área de Artes. A partir disso foram analisadas 79 dissertações defendidas entre os anos de 2017-2021 no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Artes – UFPA.
