Queer language and the demystification of the monumental

Resumo: From the idea that the functions of academic writing are inscribed in normative practicesand cannot exist beyond the boundaries of conventional, or to use a more appropriateterm, “straight” practices, the author articulates the notion of queer writing for scientificproduction in the arts. Based on a methodological approach involving scavenger methodology (Halberstam), the concept of “sublime in the banal”, by Denilson Lopes (2007)and the “desaquendação” of coloniality the text, by investing in new logics and innovative approaches, finds ways to resist the normalization of dominant discourses in the classroom and claims a sense of agency in and through writing, which ultimately functions to silence dissenting voices.

A partir de un enfoque metodológico que implica la scavenger methodology (Halberstam), el concepto de lo “sublime en lo banal” de Denilson Lopes (2007) y el “desaquendação” de la colonialidad, el texto, al invertir en nuevas lógicas y enfoques innovadores, encuentra formas de resistir la normalización de los discursos dominantes en el aula y reclama un sentido de agencia en y a través de la escritura, que en última instancia funciona para silenciar las voces disidentes.  A partir da ideia de que as funções de escrita acadêmica estão inscritas em práticas normativas e não podem existir para além das fronteiras das práticas convencionais, ou para usar um termo mais adequado, “heterossexuais”, a autora articula a noção de escrita queer para a produção científica em artes.
