Resumo: This article has as source of analysis the work Manual de Confessores e Penitentes de Martin de Azpilcueta Navarro. We seek to understand to what extent we can think of modern auricular confession, based on two philosophical concepts. The first is the concept of Pessoa developed by the Spanish philosopher Julián Marías, where the narrative, argumentative and dramatic factor of life is implicit; and, second, Parrhesia, that is, the frankness and true saying: the word that transforms. The concept was abroaded and studied by Michel Foucault in his course Hermeneutics course. These elements together characterize what we call Personal Confession.

Buscamos entender em que medida podemos pensar a confissão auricular moderna a partir de dois conceitos filosóficos. O primeiro é o conceito de Pessoa presenta na obra do filósofo espanhol Julián Marías em que está implícito o fator narrativo, argumental e dramático da vida; e, segundo, a Parrhesia, isto é, o dizer franco e verdadeiro: a palavra que transforma. O conceito foi abordado e estudado por Michel Foucault no curso Hermenêutica do Sujeito. Esses elementos juntos caracterizam o que chamamos Confissão pessoal.
