Resumo: | This article presents the work of Diane Arbus, an important American photographer of Jewish origin who produced her work in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Influenced by the work of Lisette Model, another photographer of Jewish origin, Arbus became one of the first photographers interested in reminding us that the weird/grotesque is very close to us and it is part of our reality. The work that made her famous is characterized by the exhibition of what are considered prohibited by the moral laws of society and must remain hidden because its display could compromise the illusion of an equal, smooth and perfect society. |
