LEISURE, STREET FOOD AND FOOD PARKS: ADDING MEANINGS TO THE URBAN SPACES OF THE CITY OF NATAL/RN

Resumo: As their presence on the streets grows, occupying the city's physical and symbolic spaces, the food trucks carry the opportunity to discuss the role that street food plays in our urban society. More than the circumstantial pressures of contemporary daily life, other factors may have contributed to its upsurge, such as the perception of eating out on the street as a form of leisure or pastime within reach of those who live in large cities. This research consists of an exploratory study carried out in Natal-RN in an attempt to capture impressions of how street food through food parks interferes in the daily life of the city, especially in the cultural, sociability and leisure aspects. The aim was to investigate the potential of street food as a generator of experiences of leisure and leisure through its interference in the spaces of the city. It has been applied a qualitative research strategy, using documentary research, observational research methods and semi-structured interviews with food park visitors in Natal. It concludes with reflections on the potential of street food to create places of leisure and leisure experience.

Más que las presiones circunstanciales de la vida cotidiana contemporánea, otros factores pueden haber contribuido a su popularizacion, como la percepción de comer en la calle como una forma de ocio o pasatiempo al alcance de los que viven en las grandes ciudades. Esta investigación consiste en un estudio exploratorio realizado en Natal-RN en un intento de captar las impresiones de cómo la alimentación callejera a través de los Food Parks interfiere en la vida cotidiana de la ciudad, especialmente en los aspectos culturales, de sociabilidad y de ocio. El objetivo era investigar el potencial dela comida callejera como generador de experiencias de ocio y ocio a través de su interferencia en los espacios de la ciudad. Se ha aplicado una estrategia de investigación cualitativa, utilizando investigación documental, métodos de investigación observacional y entrevistas semiestructuradas con los visitantes de los parques alimentarios de Natal. Concluye con reflexiones sobre el potencial dela comida callejera para crear lugares de ocio y de ocio.À medida que cresce a sua presença nas ruas, ocupando espaços físicos e simbólicos da cidade, os food trucks carregam a oportunidade de discutir o papel que a comida de rua desempenha em nossa sociedade urbana. Mais que as pressões circunstanciais do cotidiano contemporâneo, outros fatores podem ter colaborado para sua ascensão, como por exemplo, a percepção do ato de comer na rua como uma forma de lazer ou entretenimento ao alcance daqueles que habitam as grandes cidades. Este artigo tem por base um estudo exploratório realizado em Natal/RN em torno da comida de rua procurando coletar impressões de como essa atividade interfere no cotidiano da cidade, sobretudo nos aspectos cultural, social e lazer. O objetivo foi investigar o potencial da comida de rua como geradora de experiências de lazer, através da sua interferência nos espaços da cidade. Foi utilizada uma estratégia qualitativa, com o emprego da observação participante periférica, observação reflexiva, pesquisa documental e entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas com frequentadores dos food parks em Natal/RN.
