BOI-BUMBÁ SONGS AND EXPRESSIONS OF BLACK IDENTITY IN THE PARINTINS FOLK FESTIVAL

Resumo: This article aims to analyze the Boi-Bumbá songs, relating them to themes of black identity and their influence on Leisure Studies. The methodology involved selecting nine songs and categorically analyzing their contents. The results revealed the significant presence of themes related to cultural resistance, valorization of identity and pride, celebration of diversity and inclusion, the fight for social justice and anti-racism, among others. The songs are identified as powerful artistic expressions that transcend entertainment, becoming instruments of resistance and social education. The conclusions point to the transformative potential of songs in valorizing black and traditional culture, combating structural racism, and promoting ethnic-racial awareness.

La metodología involucró la selección de nueve canciones y su análisis categórico de contenido. Los resultados revelaron la presencia significativa de temas relacionados con la resistencia cultural, la valorización de la identidad y el orgullo, la celebración de la diversidad y la inclusión, la lucha por la justicia social y el antirracismo, entre otros. Las canciones son identificadas como poderosas expresiones artísticas que trascienden el entretenimiento, convirtiéndose en instrumentos de resistencia y educación social. Las conclusiones señalan el potencial transformador de las canciones para valorar la cultura negra y tradicional, combatir el racismo estructural y promover la conciencia étnico-racial.Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as toadas de Boi-Bumbá, relacionando-as com temáticas de negritude e sua influência nos Estudos do Lazer. A metodologia envolveu a seleção de nove toadas e a análise categórica de seus conteúdos. Os resultados revelaram a presença marcante de temas relacionados à resistência cultural, valorização da identidade e orgulho, celebração da diversidade e inclusão, luta por justiça social e antirracismo, entre outros. As toadas são identificadas como expressões artísticas que transcendem o entretenimento, tornando-se instrumentos poderosos de resistência e educação social.
