Resumo: In this article, we intend to present a current picture about soccer as a cultural heritage. The research was developed in order to contribute to the soccer debate and reflect on the relevance that this theme has achieved in recent years. The methodology used was bibliographic research on an online basis, organized by search terms, divided into categories that aimed to guide and facilitate the analysis of academic production. Despite some contradictions found in the studies analyzed, it is considered that there is the inauguration of a discussion that is still incipient in the studies of football. In this sense, the importance of building a theoretical framework capable of encompassing the complexity of this theme is emphasized, valuing measures that effectively collaborate for the protection of the materialities and immaterialities of this dynamic, affective and community heritage.

El mismo se desarrolló con el fin de contribuir al debate sobre la equidad futbolística y reflexionar sobre la relevancia que ha adquirido la temática en los últimos años. La metodología utilizada fue la investigación bibliográfica en línea, organizada por términos de búsqueda, dividida en categorías que tuvo como objetivo orientar y facilitar el análisis de la producción académica. A pesar de algunas contradicciones encontradas en los estudios analizados, se considera que se está inaugurando una discusión que aún es incipiente en los estudios del fútbol. En este sentido, se enfatiza la importancia de construir un marco teórico capaz de abarcar la complejidad de esta temática, valorando medidas que colaboren efectivamente para la protección de las materialidades e inmaterialidad de este patrimonio dinámico, afectivo y comunitario.No presente artigo, pretende-se apresentar um quadro atual a respeito do futebol enquanto patrimônio cultural. O mesmo se desenvolveu com o intuito de contribuir para o debate patrimonial do futebol e refletir sobre a relevância que o tema atingiu nos últimos anos. A metodologia utilizada foi a pesquisa bibliográfica em bases online, organizada por termos de pesquisa, divididos em categorias que visaram orientar e facilitar a análise da produção acadêmica. Apesar de alguns contrassensos encontrados nos trabalhos analisados, considera-se que há a inauguração de uma discussão ainda incipiente nos estudos do futebol.
