Resumo: The aim of this study was to understand the presence of capoeira in Belo Horizonte in the 1970s and 1980s. To understand the complex relationships between subject, subjectivity, senses and meanings in the capoeira adopted the historical cultural approach of Vigotski and the theory of subjectivity Fernando Rey. I defined the qualitative methodology and used a semi-structured interview with the Master Toninho Cavalieri, considered the pioneer of capoeira in Belo Horizonte city. Thus, I believe that this article will contribute to the expansion of knowledge about capoeira in Belo Horizonte.

Se define la metodología cualitativa y utiliza entrevista semiestructurada con el Maestro Toninho Cavalieri, considerado el pionero de la capoeira en la ciudad de Belo Horizonte. Creo que este artículo va a contribuir a la expansión del conocimiento sobre la capoeira en Belo Horizonte.O objetivo deste trabalho foi compreender a presença da capoeira em Belo Horizonte nas décadas de 1970 e 1980. Para compreender as complexas relações entre sujeito, subjetividade, sentidos e significados na capoeira adotei a abordagem histórico cultural de Vigotski e a teoria da subjetividade de Fernando Rey. Defini a metodologia qualitativa e usei a entrevista semiestruturada com o Mestre Toninho Cavalieri, considerado o pioneiro da capoeira belo horizontina.
