Resumo: In the context of the 2008 crisis, Green Economy (GE) is promoted and encouraged by United Nations institutions as a path to sustainable development. In addition to driving economic growth, GE would make possible to reduce poverty and ensure the preservation of natural resources. The present essay draws on the work of Karl Polanyi to criticize this discourse. Market society is reproduced by the subordination of human and nature to economic self-regulation, which by definition is antagonistic to life. Under the aegis of the market, man and nature live within the threshold of suppression. Social and environmental sustainability depends upon a shift towards economic subsistence oriented by the principles of reciprocity, redistribution and exchange. But GE not only keeps intact the mercantile pattern but also encourages it.

Además de impulsar el crecimiento económico, la EV haría posible reducir la pobreza y garantizar la preservación de los recursos naturales. Este ensayo está inspirado por Karl Polanyi para desarrollar una crítica de este discurso. La sociedad de mercado reproduce la auto-regulación económica, que es por definición antagónica a la vida humana y la naturaleza. Esto significa que, bajo la dirección del mercado, el hombre y la naturaleza se mantienen en el umbral de su supresión. La sostenibilidad social y ambiental depende de una reorientación económica hacia la subsistencia orquestada por los principios de reciprocidad, la redistribución y intercambio. Pero el estándar comercial no sólo se mantiene intacto, como es francamente animado por la EV.No contexto da crise de 2008, a Economia Verde (EV) é promovida e incentivada por organismos internacionais das Nações Unidas como caminho para o desenvolvimento sustentável. Além de impulsionar o crescimento econômico, a EV possibilitaria reduzir a pobreza e garantir a preservação dos recursos naturais. Este ensaio inspira-se em Karl Polanyi para elaborar uma crítica a este discurso. A sociedade de mercado reproduz-se pela subsunção do humano e da natureza à autorregulação econômica, que é, por definição, antagônica à vida. Sob a égide do mercado, homem e natureza vivem o limiar de sua supressão. Sustentabilidade social e ambiental depende de uma reorientação econômica em direção à subsistência orquestrada pelos princípios da reciprocidade, redistribuição e troca de mercado.
