SPACES, PRACTICES AND ETHNOGRAPHIES IN BRAZILIAN ORGANIZATIONAL STUDIES

Resumo: The objective of this theoretical essay is to conduct a discussion about the incorporation of ethnography as a research method in the Administration area and its effects on the epistemological construction of the concept of organizational space in Organizational Studies. From the epistemological retaking of the development of different ethnographic practices in Anthropology, especially structuralism, interpretivism and poststructuralism, we present how these debates were incorporated into Organizational Studies, emphasizing, but not exclusively, the Brazilian academic production. We argue that the way of conducting ethnographic research is that it delimits the conceptions of spaces in organizations, because it is the space-time relationship built between researcher and the field of research the basis for the deconstruction of organizations as entities and of ethnographers as universal subjects.

A partir de la retomada epistemológica del desarrollo de diferentes prácticas etnográficas en la Antropología, especialmente el estructuralismo, el interpretativismo y el post-estructuralismo, presentamos cómo esos debates fueron incorporados a los Estudios Organizacionales, enfatizando, pero no exclusivamente, la producción académica brasileña. Argumentamos que la forma de conducción de la investigación etnográfica es que delimita las concepciones de espacios en las organizaciones, pues es la relación espacio-tiempo construida entre el investigador y el campo de investigación la base para la deconstrucción de las organizaciones como entes y de los etnógrafos como sujetos universales.O objetivo deste ensaio teórico é realizar uma discussão a respeito da incorporação da etnografia como método de pesquisa na área de Administração e seus efeitos na construção epistemológica do conceito de espaço organizacional nos Estudos Organizacionais. A partir da retomada epistemológica do desenvolvimento de diferentes práticas etnográficas na Antropologia, especialmente o estruturalismo, o interpretativismo e o pós-estruturalismo, apresentamos como esses debates foram incorporados aos Estudos Organizacionais, enfatizando, mas não exclusivamente, a produção acadêmica brasileira.
