Resumo: This article undertook a reflection on racial prejudice within an upper management course, a public HEI, and the implications of prejudice in the construction of a professional, eventually absorbed by an organization. In order to undertake a robust analysis, the work constitutes a discussion of sociological, psychological, and educational aspects as a theoretical reference. This research is characterized by being qualitative and exploratory, the information was derived from two focus groups with students, and from five semi-structured interviews with teachers from a higher education course, from a Brazilian public HEI, and from field reports. For the analysis of the information was used discourse analysis, proposed by Pêcheux (2009). This research has shown that social class is an aspect that defines blackness in addition to skin color; social inclusion and social ascension provoked a kind of "whitening" in a particular group in order to obtain the same symbolic and material privileges of white subjects in society. As for the teaching process, academics understand racial prejudice as limiting factor.

As for the teaching process, academics understand racial prejudice as limiting factor.
