Resumo: This study is about regional development promoted by cooperative system from the comparison between two small towns  that have family agriculture activities. This model of agribusiness has large participation in brasilian economy, mainly in smaller municipalities, and the cooperativism helps expanding consumer markets and strenghthening small producers. Based on this subject, this study aims to understand what are the impacts that cooperatives generates to local and regional economic development between two small cities, one with and one without cooperative business. This research is a case study with qualitative approach and was held in the municipalities of Centenário/RS and Planalto Alegre/SC. It is classified as exploratory, with searches in databases, interviews and focus group. The data were analysed by applying the array of Conditioning, Potencialities and Disabilities – CPD. The results showed a high degree of participation and importance of cooperatives in the development of small towns by economic leverage promoted.

Así, el objetivo es comprender cuáles son los impactos generados por las cooperativas productivas para el desarrollo económico local y regional desde el estudio comparativo entre dos municipios de tamaño pequeño, uno con y el otro sin las cooperativas de producción. Esta investigación es un estudio de caso de un enfoque cualitativo y se llevó a cabo en los municipios de centenario/RS y Planalto Alegre/SC. Se clasifica como un documental, con la investigación exploratoria en bases de datos, documentos, entrevistas y un grupo focal. Los datos obtenidos fueron analizados mediante la aplicación de la matriz de las limitaciones, potencialidades y debilidades – LPD. Los resultados del análisis apuntaban a un alto grado de participación y la importancia del cooperativismo en el desarrollo de los municipios pequeños por medio de influencia económica, promovido por la misma.A economia brasileira possui taxas elevadas de participação do cooperativismo no agronegócio, principalmente em pequenos municípios, e este modelo contribui com a ampliação dos mercados consumidores e no fortalecimento do pequeno produtor rural. Assim, objetiva-se compreender quais os impactos gerados pelo cooperativismo produtivo para o desenvolvimento econômico local e regional a partir do comparativo entre dois municípios de pequeno porte, um deles com e outro sem cooperativas de produção. Esta pesquisa se constitui em um estudo de caso de abordagem qualitativa e foi realizada nos municípios de Centenário/RS e Planalto Alegre/SC. Classifica-se como exploratória documental, com pesquisa em bases de dados, documentos, entrevistas e grupo focal. Os dados obtidos foram analisados pela aplicação da Matriz de Condicionantes, Potencialidades e Deficiências – CPD.
