Formation and development of collections in the library school: the role of the librarian in the application of the Law 10.639/03

Resumo: This is a study on the role of the librarian in the formation and development of collections in the school library, focusing on the insertion of bibliographic materials that comply with Law 10,639, of January 9, 2003, and that foster discussions on racial and/or or indigenous in schools. It aims to establish theoretical links on the expansion of collections that include books on Afro-Brazilian History and Culture, and on the presence of the librarian in the activities developed within the school library. It is justified by the country's glaring social and educational inequalities, as well as the need to build an anti-racist education that encourages black protagonism in educational institutions. Their results prove on the importance of the school library as a space for social construction and that allows the promotion of discussions with its users, especially when it is also structured with contents referring to Afro-Brazilian History. It is configured as qualitative research, with a descriptive character and based on a bibliographic and documentary survey. It concludes that the presence of librarians in school institutions in the country is essential, working in libraries and developing projects that encourage anti-racist practices in Brazil.

Objetiva estabelecer enlaces teóricos sobre a ampliação de acervos que contemplem livros sobre História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira, e sobre a presença do/a bibliotecário/a nas atividades desenvolvidas dentro da biblioteca escolar. Justifica-se pelas gritantes desigualdades sociais e educacionais do país, bem como pela necessidade da construção de uma educação antirracista e que incentive o protagonismo negro nas instituições de ensino. Seus resultados comprovam a importância da biblioteca escolar enquanto espaço de construção social e que permite o fomento de discussões com seus/suas usuários/as, especialmente quando também é estruturada com conteúdos referentes à História Afro-brasileira. Configura-se como pesquisa qualitativa, com caráter descritivo e pautada em levantamento bibliográfico e documental.
