Ranganathan's contributions to evidence the decolonial thought

Decoloniality is a movement dedicated to continuous reflection on the Latin American cultural, political and social reality. In the academic project, it expresses itself through the constitution of authentic research lines from the global South, guaranteeing the necessary openness so that transgressions and insurgencies can manifest themselves. In order to better understand this domain, we raised the contributions that the so-called Fundamental Categories of Ranganathan, expanded in the light of Literary Categories, may have as a method of reasoning applied to practices that are dedicated to the identification and systematization of decolonial thought in Latin-American informational productions. As a result, a set of descriptors that represent decolonial thinking was listed for each of the Categories: Personality, Matter, Energy, Space, Time and Point of View. We conclude that recognizing and systematizing decolonial studies is a way of guaranteeing them visibility, leading to the strengthening and construction of a decolonial identity in Information Science, especially in Knowledge Organization.
