Thinking the museum as a community of practice: collective and continuous organizational learning environment for professionals

Resumo: Communities of practice are formed by people who share the same interest or ideal, whose development can take place in any type of environment. Museums are institutions designed to represent different cultural manifestations. The aim of the article is to analyze possible connections between the practical community and the exercise of museological actions carried out by museum professionals. The research presents a qualitative approach and uses the bibliographic technique. The results present the community of practice as an informal structure based on the relationships and knowledge of the team. It discusses the museum environment as a possible space dedicated to collective learning with professionals. It was concluded that the community of practice can effectively contribute to the daily work practice in museum institutions, by developing cohesion, social interaction and the creation of collective organizational knowledge among the team of professionals.

Os museus são instituições destinadas a representatividade das diferentes manifestações culturais. O objetivo do artigo é analisar possíveis conexões entre a comunidade prática e o exercício das ações museológicas executadas pelos profissionais de museus. A pesquisa apresenta abordagem qualitativa e utiliza a técnica bibliográfica. Os resultados apresentam a comunidade de prática como uma estrutura informal baseada nos relacionamentos e no conhecimento da equipe. Discute o ambiente museal como possível espaço vocacionado a aprendizagem coletiva junto aos profissionais.
