Resumo: Discusses the concepts of coloniality and decoloniality in the epistemological context of Librarianship and Information Science. It is questioned in which the coloniality present in the epistemology of Librarianship and Information Science is embodied, as well as ways of breaking this discourse, towards a decolonial perspective. For that, the concept of epistemology is explored. Then, the history of Librarianship and Information Science is recovered, in order to focus the evidence on the colonial conditions that formed both areas. It then discusses the concept of coloniality and decoloniality. Finally, the dual character of Librarianship and Information Science is seen as a space of knowledge and power that can both reinforce and resist the power of coloniality.

É questionado em que se corporifica a colonialidade presente na epistemologia da Biblioteconomia e da Ciência da Informação, bem como é procurado meios de ruptura de tal discurso, na direção de uma perspectiva decolonial. Para tanto, o conceito de epistemologia é explorado. Então, é recuperado o histórico da Biblioteconomia e da Ciência da Informação, de modo a enfocar as evidências as condições coloniais que formaram ambas as áreas. Em seguida, discute o conceito de colonialidade e decolonialidade.
