Decolonial Epistemology and Information Science: an analysis of ENANCIB Annals

Resumo: This study seeks to reflect on the dialogue between decolonial epistemology and Information Science (IC). It aims to identify scientific papers on decolonial epistemology in the Annals of the National Meeting of Research on Information Science. A survey of its scientific production, available online, was carried out between 2010 and 2019, finding that 3,408 scientific studies used content analysis. We chose 42 on ethno-racial, gender, otherness, and racism issues to be read in full. We found that most communications were based on other theoretical conceptions outside the scope of this study. As a result, we show two IC articles on decolonial epistemology. This reflects a need to discuss decolonial epistemology in IC given its importance and multiple possibilities.

Propõe identificar nos Anais do Encontro Nacional de Pesquisa em Ciência da Informação (ENANCIB), trabalhos científicos que abordam em sua temática a epistemologia decolonial. Realiza um levantamento da produção científica do evento, disponível de forma online, entre os anos de 2010 a 2019. Foram mapeadas 3.408 comunicações científicas no período investigado, onde foi realizada a análise de conteúdo dos títulos, resumos e palavras-chave. Foram identificados e apresentados dois artigos que abordam a epistemologia decolonial na CI nesse período. Constatou-se também possibilidades de diálogo com a epistemologia decolonial em diversos outros artigos, identificados na discussão do estudo. Constata que o fato do resultado da pesquisa ser exíguo reflete em um resultado em si, discutir a epistemologia decolonial na Ciência da Informação ainda é um campo bastante inexplorado e importante, com possibilidades  múltiplas.Universidade de São Paulo.
