Resumo:  A economia brasileira desenvolveu-se consideravelmente nas duas últimas décadas. Esse desenvolvimento fez-se sentir, igualmente, no setor financeiro nacional. Embora desejáveis, e escolhidos pela ideologia constitucional, os mecanismos de livre mercado e de intervenção mínima, por meio da regulação setorial, não têm sido suficientemente hábeis a gerir adequadamente o setor. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Brasil. Perspectivas. ABSTRACT  The brazilian economy has developed considerably in the recent decades. This development can be noted in the financial and bank sector as well. Even though chosen by the Constitution ideology, the laissez faire mechanisms and the regulatory agencies haven’t succeed in their challenges of properly monitoring the sector. KEYWORDS: Brazil.
