Resumo: Considerando o trabalho categoria fundante do ser social, argumentamos que se deve buscar nos fundamentos histórico-ontológicos do trabalho o referencial teórico para a educação dos trabalhadores. Analisamos algumas perspectivas e concluímos apresentando alguns desafios postos à criação de políticas para a educação profissional no Brasil.
