Resumo: The article critically discusses the assumption of education as an element of development a priori by problematizing economic strategies and behaviors based on the processes of insertion and occupational trajectory within a sectoral dynamic. To this end, it takes up the educational-labor trajectories of employed people within the car repair and maintenance segment as a witness case of the trends and conditions on the dynamics and techno-productive transformations of capitalism as well as the technical-professional training strategies that develop so many traditional productive or service areas. A qualitative study concludes that the training-labor trajectories given in the period 2006-2020 responded to mechanisms and structures of formal and informal opportunities segmented according to the heterogeneous Argentine social organization.
