Studying the Padovan sequence in the Mathematics Teaching Laboratory: experience report

Resumo: The present work is an experience report, presenting a didactic teaching sequence for the study of the Padovan sequence through its geometric representation. From this, there is a methodological approach, based on Didactic Engineering as a research methodology and on the Theory of Didactic Situations as a teaching theory, allowing an investigation of Padovan numbers based on their geometric representations. Thus, there is the investigative field of Padovan numbers, starting with a discussion of the students, around recurrent linear sequences, starting from the Fibonacci sequence and presenting its relationship with the studied sequence. The production of data occurred during the classes of the Mathematics Teaching Laboratory discipline of the Licentiate in Mathematics course, in a higher education institution located in the state of Ceará. The results were analyzed from the proposition of a problem situation, based on the Theory of Didactic Situations. Thus, it was possible to carry out a study of the Padovan sequence, allowing students to build knowledge, in view of the geometric representation of these numbers. Finally, it is possible to observe the students' experiences in relation to the practice carried out, as well as the teachers' perceptions.

A partir de ello, se parte de un abordaje metodológico, basado en la Ingeniería Didáctica como metodología de investigación y en la Teoría de las Situaciones Didácticas como teoría de enseñanza, que permite una investigación de los números Padovan a partir de sus representaciones geométricas. Así, queda el campo investigativo de los números de Padovan, a partir de una discusión de los alumnos, en torno a las sucesiones lineales recurrentes, a partir de la sucesión de Fibonacci y presentando su relación con la sucesión estudiada. La producción de datos ocurrió durante las clases de la disciplina Laboratorio de Enseñanza de Matemáticas del curso de Licenciatura en Matemáticas, en una institución de enseñanza superior ubicada en el estado de Ceará. Los resultados se analizaron a partir de la proposición de una situación problema, con base en la Teoría de las Situaciones Didácticas. Así, fue posible realizar un estudio de la sucesión de Padovan, permitiendo a los estudiantes construir conocimientos, teniendo en cuenta la representación geométrica de estos números. Finalmente, es posible observar las experiencias de los estudiantes con relación a la práctica realizada, así como las percepciones de los docentes.O presente trabalho trata de um relato de experiência, apresentando uma sequência didática de ensino para o estudo da sequência de Padovan, por meio de sua representação geométrica. A partir disso, tem-se a abordagem metodológica, com base na Engenharia Didática, como metodologia de pesquisa, e na Teoria das Situações Didáticas, como teoria de ensino, permitindo uma investigação dos números de Padovan baseada em suas representações geométricas. Desse modo, tem-se o campo investigativo dos números de Padovan, iniciando com uma discussão dos estudantes, em torno de sequências lineares recorrentes, partindo da sequência de Fibonacci e apresentando a sua relação com a sequência estudada. A produção dos dados ocorreu durante as aulas da disciplina de Laboratório de Ensino de Matemática do curso de Licenciatura em Matemática, em uma instituição de ensino superior localizada no estado do Ceará. Os resultados foram analisados a partir da proposição de uma situação-problema, com base na Teoria das Situações Didáticas. Assim, foi possível realizar um estudo da sequência de Padovan, permitindo que os estudantes construíssem o conhecimento, perante a representação geométrica desses números.
