Pedagogical foundations and teacher education: the experience from training to teaching

Resumo: This article is included in order to discuss the formation process of professional teachers in universities. For that purpose, a bibliographic research was conducted on adult education, higher education and teaching training stage, with emphasis on Paulo Freire’s contributions on pedagogical concepts and practices. The insights obtained from that research revealed that pupils in the training process to become teachers who received guidance on teaching methods performed with greater confidence and pedagogical resourcefulness in the teaching training stage. Therefore, they managed to complete activities in a more didactic and effective way for all the parties involved in the teaching and learning process, unlike the pupils who did not go through teaching training or did not have instructions on pedagogy theory.

Para tal, foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa bibliográfica acerca de temáticas relacionadas a educação de adultos, ensino superior e o estágio docência, com ênfase nas contribuições de Paulo Freire sobre os conceitos e práticas pedagógicas. As percepções obtidas nesse estudo revelaram que os discentes em processo de formação para a docência que receberam orientações sobre métodos pedagógicos desempenharam o estágio docência com maiores autoconfiança e desenvoltura pedagógica.
