Resumo: The text is based on teaching experience in higher education, working at the Department of History at the State University of Paraíba (UEPB), in Campina Grande. It analyzes the memorials written by young students of the undergraduate History course at that institution, containing reports on their school trajectories, conceptions of history and teacher education. Considering the narratives of oneself as a starting point for the critique of historical culture and the understanding of what it means to be a history teacher, it is observed how such elements allow us to think about teacher education and teaching. Therefore, we weave a reading that considers the teaching of history as a laboratory not only of content and themes, but fundamentally of relations that stress historical culture, the ways of thinking and practicing teaching and the knowledge that articulates it as professional practice.

Analiza los memoriales escritos por jóvenes estudiantes de la carrera de Historia de esa institución, conteniendo informes sobre sus trayectorias escolares, concepciones de la historia y formación docente. Considerando las narrativas de uno mismo como punto de partida para la crítica de la cultura histórica y la comprensión de lo que significa ser profesor/a de Historia, se observa cómo tales elementos permiten pensar en la formación y enseñanza del profesorado. Por tanto, tejemos una lectura que considera la enseñanza de Historia como un laboratorio no solo de contenidos y temáticas, sino fundamentalmente de relaciones que enfatizan la cultura histórica, las formas de pensar y practicar la docencia y los saberes que la articulan como práctica profesional.O texto se constitui a partir da experiência docente no ensino superior, atuando no Departamento de História da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB), em Campina Grande. Analisa os memoriais escritos por jovens estudantes do curso de graduação em História da referida instituição, contendo os relatos sobre as suas trajetórias escolares, as concepções de história e formação docente. Considerando as narrativas de si como ponto de partida para a crítica da cultura histórica e das compreensões sobre o que é ser professor/a de História, observa-se como tais elementos permitem pensar a formação docente e o ensino.
