Proposal, curricular structure and mental health contents addressed in the education of future nurses

Resumo: | This work aims to analyse the proposal, curricular structure and mental health contents addressed in the education of nurses in a Northeastern Brazilian capital city. It is a documental research in which the corpus of analysis was composed by pedagogical projects, curricular matrices, teaching plans and schedules of mental health subjects of undergraduate Nursing courses. The content analysis technique was applied to the data analysis. The pedagogical projects and curricular matrices present a timid insertion of mental health in the proposal of the courses; the structures of the subjects present some similar and distinct aspects; and the contents addressed demonstrate a transversality for the education of nurses in various scenarios and contexts. The proposal of Nursing education to work in the field of mental health is directed to care in the specialized segment, but with transversality in the contents, considering the other levels of health care and the needs of professional practice. |

Se trata de una investigación documental en la que el corpus de análisis estuvo compuesto por proyectos pedagógicos, matrices curriculares, planes de enseñanza y programas de disciplinas de salud mental de los cursos de graduación en Enfermería. Para el análisis de datos fue aplicada la técnica de análisis de contenido. Los proyectos pedagógicos y matrices curriculares presentan una tímida inserción de la salud mental en la propuesta de los cursos; las estructuras de las disciplinas presentan algunos aspectos similares y distintos; y los contenidos abordados demuestran una transversalidad para la formación de enfermeros en diversos escenarios y contextos. La propuesta de educación en Enfermería para trabajar en el campo de la salud mental está dirigida a la atención en el segmento especializado, pero con transversalidad en los contenidos, considerando los otros niveles de atención a la salud y las necesidades de la práctica profesional.O objetivo deste estudo é analisar a proposta, a estrutura curricular e os conteúdos de saúde mental abordados na formação do enfermeiro em uma capital do Nordeste brasileiro. Trata-se de pesquisa documental, na qual o conjunto de documentos analisados foi composto por projetos pedagógicos, matrizes curriculares, planos de ensino e cronogramas das disciplinas de saúde mental de cursos de graduação em Enfermagem. Para a análise dos dados foi aplicada a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Observa-se, neste estudo, que os documentos institucionais apresentam pouca inserção referente aos aspectos da saúde mental na proposta dos cursos; as estruturas das disciplinas apresentam alguns aspectos semelhantes e distintos; e os conteúdos abordados demonstram uma transversalidade para a formação do enfermeiro em diversos cenários e contextos.
