Resumo: | In the past years, there has been a gradual increase in studies trying to comprehend the effects of religiosity and spirituality (R/S) on mental health. At the same time, a growing research movement on well-being has marked its presence in the academic world, with reference to the theoretical perspective of Positive Psychology, which focuses on the identification of factors that contribute to the positive functioning of human beings. Among these factors, one can mention topics such as transcendence and spirituality, which may or may not be associated with religious behavior. Given the relevance and breadth of the theme, this study aims to present a theoretical discussion about some results of research that address the impact of R/S on well-being and mental health. The conceptual framework of Positive Psychology is used to understand the elements that contribute to the promotion of well-being. |

The conceptual framework of Positive Psychology is used to understand the elements that contribute to the promotion of well-being.
